Abstract Art

Look at my lovely artwork. I didn't make this in kindergarten, or 5th grade, or even in high school. That's right, I made it last year while sitting in class in graduate school. I'm so talented. It took me a whole two minutes probably. I think maybe I should make a living of being an artist.

Jem

Jem is truly outrageous --- truly, truly, truly outragious! Jem, the music's contagious.

"Today's Special" is a pretty tight show as well. Do you remember Muffy? Of course you do. If you don't remember the show, it was about a mannequin named Jeff who came to life when you put his hat on and said "hocus, pocus, alimagocus". The department store worker was Jody, and the security guard was Sam. See, now you remember.

WWMD

I absolutely LOVE Macgyver! Are you with me on this one? I've seen every episode, and of course I've purchased the complete seasons on DVD.

Phototime

I love taking pictures. Although this sample is far from my best work, it's one of my favorites. As a young...well...younger person, I always wanted to be a photographer when I grew up. I need a much better camera (obviously), and then I think my hobby will really take off. I also have an interest (and talent) in making flower arrangements. I've tried my hand at other crafty, artsy things, and I've failed. I'm no seamstress, my scrapbooks are plain, my cooking is basic (still good), etc. Well, I'm also really into music, and that's my other creative outlet. I could just sit and play the piano for days. Aahhh!

What's happening here?

I don't really want to turn this site into some sort of pet peeve list; however, there are things that just must be addressed. Here's a phrase I hear every day: "I could care less." Well, don't say that you could care less unless you mean it. It generally appears to me people who say "I could care less" really look like they COULDN'T care less. I realize my English will win no award and that I am careless in the way I speak and write for the most part; however, I'm trying to change the world one malapropism at a time. If you say "I could care less", it means that you actually care, and that there is a level of caring less than the one you are currently experiencing. If you don't care at all, it's more appropriate to say "I couldn't care less", because there is no level of caring below your current level of caring (which is absolutely ZERO). Now, if this phrase was not such a big problem, I wouldn't have needed to write a huge paragraph about it. You're probably tempted to think that you "could" care less about my blog, but I'm probably sure you indeed could NOT.

SPARR

Here and now, I officially begin my crusade against road rage. I am starting an organization called SPARR --- Smart People Against Road Rage. Let's all take a few moments to ponder our own driving habits:

1. Is your hand glued to your horn?
2. Do you say "Hello" to those behind you by heavily tapping your brake lights?
3. Do you think that more than one car can fit into a parking space?
4. Do four of your five digits cramp up when you try to wave to a passerby?
5. Is hollering profanity out your window your idea of making friends?
6. Do you have the nerve to swerve?

Perhaps these are stupid questions. Perhaps I have too much time on my hands. There is one thing that should be made clear --- I will not stand for road rage any longer. As founder of SPARR, I will make a difference. Join me!
